Storybook Theatre incorporates theater arts to creatively enhance their performances with the use of costumes, props, music and exaggerated voices! These interactive shows help promote the concept that "reading can be fun and exciting". Storybook Theatre was founded in 1991 by Lynn Draper and her sister Christi Stuebben. Lynn and her troupe of fine actors have enthralled well over TWO MILLION children and adults. Their dynamic performances at theaters, schools, festivals, teacher workshops, churches, businesses and other events across America have won rave reviews. Recognized by the Texas Commission on the Arts, Storybook Theatre is one of the most popular and sought after children’s theater groups in the country. Often classified as “edutainers,” they combine entertainment skills and education techniques in a manner that creates a desire in young minds to excel in reading. They have dedicated their lives to the growth and teaching of children. Each team member has studied and taught dramatic presentations on and off stage. They have enriched and broadened their teaching skills by traveling and living in many places throughout the world.

Through the MasterWorks Series, Arts Council Northeast and the City of Hurst present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The MasterWorks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.
